As part of the Gustav Mahler Music Weeks Dobbiaco, the Henry-Louis de La Grange Reading Room will be inaugurated on July 17, 2024 at the Euregio Cultural Center Gustav Mahler Dobbiaco. The collection housed within this reading room is the result of a generous donation, comprising duplicates of books and scores from the personal collection of Henry-Louis de La Grange, primarily connected with Gustav Mahler. Additionally, it includes biographies, catalogs, analyses, essays on music history, as well as scores and music from the archives of the Bibliothèque musicale La Grange-Fleuret and the Fondation Royaumont.
This reading room will hold significant importance for the Gustav Mahler Research Centre. It will facilitate the organization of Summer Schools for students and doctoral researchers, providing young scholars with a collection of books to support their endeavors. Discussions are also underway regarding integration with the bibliographic online resources of the University of Innsbruck, thereby enabling the expansion of holdings through e-books and academic journals in digital format.
